Trend Report Tuesday: Kimonos

When I first heard about this trend, I didn’t exactly like it. I thought that kimonos were very unflattering and didn’t fit into my style, but they eventually grew on me. What I love about them is that they are very versatile and is a perfect “sweater” to wear in the summer. It’s very light and flowy and kind of makes you look like a hipster which is always a plus. Kimonos come in all styles and lengths to match your own personal style.

I currently have 2 kimonos that I purchased from TJ Maxx. They are currently my favorite styles. The black one is all lace in the back and has some fringe on the bottom which gives so flare to the outfit. I love to wear it on top of a crop top and high waisted shorts because its nice and long to cover up your back. It’s also very bohemian looking which is a perfect addition to my style.

BLACK KIMONO

My other kimono is a rich cream color with some lace trimming. I like to wear this one on fancier occasions since it’s a little bit more elegant looking, in my opinion. I usually wear this with a nice top and jeans or a on top of a basic romper.

PINK KIMONO

Here are a few kimonos that I really like:

Nordstrom has some good quality kimonos for a little bit pricier than what I would pay for, but I love this lace one because it’s perfect for dressing up an outfit.

PacSun is a great place to buy bohemian clothing. I’m really into the longer kimonos because they give off a better vibe, if that makes any sense.I like the dark floral and the fringe at the bottom.

Forever21 has a great variety of clothing for any fashion style. I like the lace detailing and I also love the affordable price of this kimono. Another place to get some deals for kimonos is TJ Maxx. They aren’t guaranteed to have any, but you’d be surprise at what clothing items you can find there.
