New Year. New Me.

2015

Happy New Year!! I can’t believe it’s 2015 already. 2014 seemed to fly by way too quick. But with the New Year, comes new resolutions and goals. I’ve come to understand the importance of resolutions and goals the past few months. I’m starting to incorporate them into my life and have actually helped me do what I want to achieve. I thought that with the New Year, I would come up with some resolutions and goals for 2015 which may also be resolutions or goals of yours as well. I have a strong feeling that 2015 will be a good year for myself and for many others of you. I can see change coming down the road as long as I can follow my goals I’ve set for myself. I’m gonna share my resolutions and goals with you guys and hopefully inspire you to change something in your New Year ūüôā

Resolution #1- Healthier diet and stay active

I’m now a sophomore in High School and school is starting to really pick up the pace which has created a lot of stress-filled nights with 5+ hours of homework and studying. I also do extra-curricular activities such as music and sports. For me, when I’m stressed out and very busy, I tend to not pay attention to what I’m consuming. I usually grab whatever I can, whenever I can. Ever since about October, I’ve started to gain a little extra weight. As a result of this, I’m hoping that in 2015, I will pay attention to what goes in my mouth and to a more well rounded diet. I also want to start drinking A LOT more water than I am now. I only drink about a 12 ounces of water a day, on average. Drinking a glass of water before meals and periodically throughout workouts will hopefully give me a boost to loosing the extra weight I’ve gained. Since, I’ve been very busy lately, it’s been hard for me to find the time to go to the gym. I need to stop feeding myself excuses! I plan to workout about 3-4 days a week in 2015 to help me loose some unnecessary weight.

Resolution #2- Create efficient study habits

Ever since social media has entered my life, I’ve become a huge slacker when it comes to doing work. I get distracted with my phone way too easily and lose focus on my homework. I want to come up with a plan of action each day I get home from school. I’ll give myself breaks periodically throughout the night for me to use my phone and laptop, and then take away all my distractions so that I will focus on the work for that night. I usually procrastinate when it comes to study and I hope that in 2015, I will be able to start studying earlier to help eliminate some stress of cramming in some study time the night before.

Resolution #3- Get Organized!

As I grow older, I gain more responsibilities and work. My schedule has become more and more hectic and it’s hard to keep up with all that I have to do day-to-day. I purchased a dry-erase calendar where I can fill it with¬†important dates such as important test days, birthday parties, social gatherings and extra-curricular activities. It has helped me to keep track of what’s coming up for the week and keeps me, well, organized!

Resolution #4- Continue to work and improve my blog

It seems that I blog less and less each year because I just become more and more busy. I’m hoping this year I will be able to balance out my schedule and prioritize blogging in my daily routine. I want to take my blogging to the next level this year and maybe even branch out and do video blogging. I just have to find some motivation and stick with it.

I hope my resolutions have helped to inspire you to create a new goal for 2015 and create a better you. I hope you all have a happy New Year!!

Back to School Tips and Tricks

Here are some useful tips and tricks for back to school.

What I like to wear is a dress on the first day of school. I like to wear a dress that is not to much to worry about but something easy but still very cute because you will be walking around a lot.

One trick I do on the first week of school is I plan out what I’m going to wear for the whole week. That makes it so much easier in the mornings. And to make it easier when planning out for the week, I always check the weather. I check the weather because I can know if it will be hot or that morning so that I know how many layers to wear or if I need to wear jeans instead of a skirt.

The second tip for school is to be prepared. I like to get all my stuff ready in the morning so that means my outfit, backpack and even lunch. And also be prepared with things in your backpack. I always keep a pair of pants and a shirt in my backpack just in case I need it.

For school, you don’t always need to have the newest and trendiest clothing. Everybody has a different view on fashion. Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable. You don’t want to wear a skirt if you’re on of those people who just don’t wear skirt, just because everyone else is. Wear something that’s eye popping. Something fresh and new. I always wear my new clothes n the first couple weeks.

I hope these tips were helpful and you will be able to use this for your back to school routine.

Adobe Ideas App

The Adobe Ideas is an app for drawing whatever you want. There are so many different features in this app. You can add layers to your drawing. It is convert into a very big canvas. I have this app for my iPad and I love it. It makes it very easy to draw ideas for clothing. I also think it would be much easier if you had a pen for the iPad so it would be easier to draw. I think fashion designers and people who just like to draw clothing would love this app.

This feature allows you to play with the color pallet and help you build the exact color you want.

Blazers

Blazers have always been a classic. Every person should own this piece of clothing. They are perfect for any age group. What I love about blazers is that you can wear it so many different ways. You could wear it to work during the day, like if you’re a teacher or work in the professional field, and you can wear it at night if you are going out and want to stay comfy. Blazers are becoming very popular so there are a lot of different styles, colors, and even textures. Here are some of my personal favorite blazers.

Black, Gray and Blue

Have you ever worn black, gray or blue together? I have for sure. But all my friends always say, ‘ Those brown boots don’t match with your blue jeans’ or ‘That blue skirt doesn’t match with those gray leggings.’ In my opinion, I think these colors look perfectly fine together. I think you just have to wear the right shades of these colors together. Here are some pictures of clothing that I would definitely wear together.

Color Blocking

The easiest way to color block with clothing is to take really bright colors and put them together. For instance, try wearing a dark blouse with a bright colored skirt. Another alternative is to wear a very simple outfit but with a pair of shoes that are multi-colored. Even adding really big and bright accessories will help but make sure not to go overboard.

H&M Virtual Dressing Room

I have recently checked out H&M’s website and they have this super cool Virtual Dressing Room. It features a model which you can change and dress up. You can put on any piece of clothing onto the model from the catalog. From there, you can change the color if there are different colors available and it tells you how much the piece of clothing costs. It also tells you how much your whole outfit costs. You can try on anything from dresses to swimsuits and even accessories. If you’re ever curious about how something looks, you can see it in the H&M Virtual Dressing Room.
