The Birkenstocks are back from the past! I wasn’t actually alive during the last trend but I am now. When I first saw people at my school wearing these shoes, I thought they weren’t that cute with their nature-looking style. I totally thought this trend wouldn’t spread because the shoes are just not that cute, but it turns out people LOVE them. It’s like every single girl at my school wears them. Birkenstocks have definitely grown on me but I just haven’t had the time to go out and by myself a pair.
The thing I really like about these shoes are that they’re very versatile. They work with both socks and no socks. They’re perfect for a casual summer day with a simple t-shirt and jean shorts. They add a more casual and trendy look to the outfit. Birkenstocks are also great for the fall. The most famous way at my school to wear Birkenstocks is with a thick pair of wool socks. Wool socks are what give the Birkenstocks that nature vibe. Of course, you can wear just regular ankle socks or some funky polka dot socks. That’s what makes these shoes so versatile. The other thing I love about these shoes is the type of vibe they give off. They’re more suited for a bohemian look which I am totally into this year. They look great with a pair of ripped up jeans and a floral lace kimono or even a simple maxi dress.
Here are some great places to find Birkenstocks and even some knock off brands for the people who don’t want to pay as much:
It’s finally fall! This is my second favorite season (summer’s my first). I love how the leaves change color, and everything pumpkin comes to the stores, and this may sound weird, but fall has this special, fresh smell that I absolutely adore. But as fall comes, so does colder weather. These are some of my essentials that help me through the autumn season and the cold weather.
It isn’t fall without flannels. They just give of that vibe of comfort and coziness. Flannels are so causal and can help enhance a basic outfit. White t-shirt, jeans, flannels and some booties and you’re set to go. Here are some of the places I like to go to buy my flannels at:
Something about dark wash jeans just gives of the fall vibe. They look super sophisticated and make your outfit look nice and laid back. I also really like ripped jeans in the fall. It gives it a more edgy look and fall feel to the outfit. Here are some places I go to buy my jeans:
I honestly don’t own very many sweaters because I’m actually very picky when it comes to sweaters. It’s very hard to find the perfect fall sweater. I think sweaters are nice to layer over a white dress shirt and some jeans with a pair of booties and a bold necklace to kind of bring a little pop to the outfit. It’s a very sophisticated outfit for a fall day in the city. Here are some stores I would buy sweaters at:
Boots are my favorite type of shoe to wear in the fall and winter time. Half of the shoes I own are boots. Boots just give off that warm and cozy fall vibe. They can make an outfit casual by wearing some tall brown riding boots or some short black buckle boots to spice up an outfit for night time. There are so many different styles and colors of boots. There is a perfect boot for everyone. Here are some of my favorite stores to buy boots from:
I don’t have any specific products I use for fall but my favorite things to use are dark lip colors. I think plum and dark rose colors are perfect in autumn. They helps brighten up a neutral toned outfit. Another thing I like to do for my makeup in the fall is winged eyeliner. I think the wing gives you a little edge to your face. Big wing or small wing, it’s definitely a bold change in your look.
On Saturday, I went to the mall and I went to Forever21 (of course!) and I really wanted to get one of the hats there. I tried a bunch of them on and finally decided on this Beaded Knit Purl Beanie which looks awesome with my brown hair. After that I went to PacSun and got this Kirra All Over Solid Lace tank which is really pretty. I actually wore my hat with my tank. It looks super cool! I wore it with my beanie, my new lace tank, dark wash jean jacket, black leggings and brown leather boots. I hope you guys like these items.
Fashion’s Night Out at The Bellevue Collection was a super great experience. It’s not a fashion show or anything but it was still really cool.
They had designs from local designers like Lizzie Parker and Lisa Van Hunter. I actually saw Lisa & Lizzie at the party.
Speaking of the party, I got there early enough that I was on of the first 200 people (who RSVP’d) to get to go to this party and get a free swag bag.
Inside was a super cute bag from Free People and a bunch of coupons for a bunch of stores in the mall.
Also, at the party were snacks from Pinkabella Cupcakes, TopPot doughnuts, and Cinnabon. It was awesome!
After the party, my mom and I walked to a bunch of stores that were promoting giveaways and special discounts for this event. My favorite store that I visited was Kate Spade New York. I love her style of clothing. It has a vintage flare. Plus, the shop itself was so cute looking. I was in love. But of course I couldn’t afford anything.
I loved Fashion’s Night Out and I would definitely go there next year. Maybe I will even try to get into another fashion event during Fashion Week. It would be a dream!
Make sure to check in September for my post of Fashion Night Out At Bellevue Square on Thursday, September 8th. I will try my best to upload pictures from that night. I will definitely tell you all about it! Can’t Wait!
