Trend Report Tuesday- Denim Skirts

I remember when I was in 3rd grade, mini denim skirts were so popular for girls. Now the trend is back but re-amped. I’m really love in this trend because for me, it gives off this boho/western vibe. I’ve seen some people at Coachella and other music festivals wear this look with a big studded belt and crop top. You can also make it a edgier look by adding a blazer and a pair of stilettos. I think a denim skirt is a perfect staple to have in your wardrobe for the late summer/early fall season. Here are a few of my favorite denim skirts:

Trend Report Tuesday- Baseball Caps

I’m finally glad that baseball caps are in style now because I’ve been wearing them for a long while whenever I was a having a bad hair day or if I hadn’t washed my hair that day. Baseball caps are so fun and versatile to wear, they spice up any old casual outfit. You can wear a vintage cap with a pair of ripped jeans and a t-shirt or a pink cap with a casual t-shirt dress and some vans sneakers. Here are some of my personal favorite baseball caps:

Summer Fashion Essentials ☼

Summer is finally here! Here are some fashion pieces that I think are essential for this summer.

Pins and Needles Lace Halter Bra- Urban Outfitters

pins and needles halter bra

I’m obsessed with bralettes and halter bras. They are much comfier than a normal bra and are cuter than a normal t-shirt bra. These kind of bras can be worn with anything, but I personally like to wear them with strappy shirts and dresses so the bra is more visible. This bralette from UO is personally one of my favorites and come in a bunch of colors.

Urban Renewal Recycled High/Low Denim Short- Urban Outfitters

UO levis short

I finally found the classic high-waisted Levi shorts! I’m so in love with vintage looking clothing and Urban Renewal is the perfect place to find renewed vintage clothing. These shorts are perfect for a music festival this summer or a day trip to the beach.

Jada Dress- Brandy Melville

jada dress

I think this little dress is a must have for this summer. You could totally dress it up or down for any occasion. Wear it going anywhere and when you get chilly at night, throw a jean jacket on top or a thin cardigan.

Vans ‘Classic’ Sneaker- Nordstrom

vans slip ons

These are my go-to shoes. I used to wear my white converse like all the time, but now I wear these. They’re super easy to put on and match with practically any outfit. Wear them if you’re just making a quick run to the store or walking around the city.

a.n.a Valerie Strappy Lace-Up Sandals- JCPenny

lace up heels

I’ve been trying to find a pair of shoes exactly like this but I could never find an affordable pair. The strapping of this shoe is perfect for a date night. They look good with either a dress or jeans.

Cat Eye Sunglasses- Forever21

cat eye sunglasses

I don’t have this exact pair, but I have something similar that I bought at Kohl’s, but the shape of the glasses is my absolute favorite. Different styles of sunglasses look better on certain people, so you just have to find the perfect pair. The cat eye glasses seem to be a trendy style so that’s why I chose these ones. Keep them in your purse or car so that you always have them and ready for use.

The 2015 Bellevue Collection’s Canvas of Style Runway Show

The Canvas of Style Runway Show at the Bellevue Collection was held on April 25th, 2015. This was my 3rd year going to this show and it was probably my favorite one yet. Again this year, there was a catered breakfast that included pastries and fruit which wasn’t too bad. There was also a goodie bag filled with coupons for stores located in the mall. I was really disappointed in the type of coupons because there weren’t too many that were worth using.

The theme ‘Canvas of Style’ incorporated a lot of color into a lot of the wardrobes this year. I also thought that this year’s outfits were aimed to a wider audience. There were a lot more clothes this year that I could actually see myself wearing. Here are some of my personal favorites from the show:

Topshop Skirt

Nordstrom Topshop full skirt in window pane print

I love all the clothes from Topshop and I especially love this skirt. I think the print of the skirt is very retro and is something that I wouldn’t mind owning myself.

Gap Denim JacketLorna Jane Hoodie

Gap Denim baseball jacket

Lorna Jane White sleeveless hoodie and black mesh top

I really love the sporty trend because I’m a big fan of athletic looking clothes. The denim baseball jacket is a great statement jacket. The black mesh top is also a trend I’m really in love with. These are both super sporty while fashionable at the same time.

Banana Republic VestBanana Republic Shoes

Banana Republic Vest with contrast woven trim

I like to call this look preppy chic. The vest layered on top of the shirt paired with the circle skirt is preppy and trendy. My favorite part of the outfit is the striped shoes worn with socks. It reminds me of the 50’s which is probably one of my favorite eras in fashion.

Intermix Fringe SkirtBCBG Black JacketNordstrom Rebecca Minkoff Jacket

Intermix Suede fringe skirt

BCBGMAXAZRIA Black fringe jacket

Nordstrom Rebecca Minkoff white leather fringe jacket

I’ve never really liked leather jackets until the fringe trend became popular. All these looks are very Bohemian which is what my style closely resembles and owning a fringe jacket or a fringe skirt is a perfect statement piece for a boho chick like me.

DVF Chiffon Dress

Diane Von Furstenberg Blush chiffon dress with gathered front

About 2 years ago, I was obsessed with everything chiffon. This dress reminded me how much I love chiffon. The gathered front gives it an elegant but boho look. I would love to own a beautiful dress like this.

Anthropologie Dress

Anthropologie White deep pleated front shirtdress

This dress is probably my favorite piece out of the whole show. It’s so simple but so chic at the same time. You could totally dress this up or down for any occasion. My favorite part of the dress is the dress shirt top part mixed with the pleats on the bottom. I would love to have this dress be part of my wardrobe.

BCBG Belt

BCBGMAXAZRIA belt

I’ve noticed that big statement belts are a big trend now, especially for Coachella looks. A big studded belt is a great statement piece for any simple outfit. You can dress up an outfit with a belt or you can wear a studded belt to add to a bohemian look. The belt is a definite must for the spring.

My Essentials For Fall ♡

It’s finally fall! This is my second favorite season (summer’s my first). I love how the leaves change color, and everything pumpkin comes to the stores, and this may sound weird, but fall has this special, fresh smell that I absolutely adore. But as fall comes, so does colder weather. These are some of my essentials that help me through the autumn season and the cold weather.

FLANNELS

It isn’t fall without flannels. They just give of that vibe of comfort and coziness. Flannels are so causal and can help enhance a basic outfit. White t-shirt, jeans, flannels and some booties and you’re set to go. Here are some of the places I like to go to buy my flannels at:

Forever21

Costco

Urban Outfitters

DARK WASH JEANS

Something about dark wash jeans just gives of the fall vibe. They look super sophisticated and make your outfit look nice and laid back. I also really like ripped jeans in the fall. It gives it a more edgy look and fall feel to the outfit. Here are some places I go to buy my jeans:

American Eagle

TJ Maxx

Forever21

SWEATERS

I honestly don’t own very many sweaters because I’m actually very picky when it comes to sweaters. It’s very hard to find the perfect fall sweater. I think sweaters are nice to layer over a white dress shirt and some jeans with a pair of booties and a bold necklace to kind of bring a little pop to the outfit. It’s a very sophisticated outfit for a fall day in the city. Here are some stores I would buy sweaters at:

Forever 21

Urban Outfitters

H&M

BOOTIES

Boots are my favorite type of shoe to wear in the fall and winter time. Half of the shoes I own are boots. Boots just give off that warm and cozy fall vibe. They can make an outfit casual by wearing some tall brown riding boots or some short black buckle boots to spice up an outfit for night time. There are so many different styles and colors of boots. There is a perfect boot for everyone. Here are some of my favorite stores to buy boots from:

Nordstrom

Steve Madden

Forever 21

MAKEUP

I don’t have any specific products I use for fall but my favorite things to use are dark lip colors. I think plum and dark rose colors are perfect in autumn. They helps brighten up a neutral toned outfit. Another thing I like to do for my makeup in the fall is winged eyeliner. I think the wing gives you a little edge to your face. Big wing or small wing, it’s definitely a bold change in your look.

I hope I have inspired you for fall!♡

Trend Report Tuesday- High Waisted Pants

This week’s trend is one of my favorites, high waisted pants. High waisted items have become SUPER popular in the world of fashion and I’m so glad they have. I hate hate HATE wearing jeans that hang at your waist. I just felt that they were too short and I could never wear crop tops with them. I’ve always wanted a pair of high waisted for years now but they weren’t really the cute thing to wear. People thought of high waisted pants as “granny pants”. But one magical day when I went shopping at American Eagle, my favorite place to buy jeans, they had high waisted jeans! And the best part? THEY WERE JEGGINGS!! I love jeggings so much because they are just so much more comfortable than normal, tight jeans. Jeggings also fit and flatter your body better which is a plus. I currently 2 pairs of high waisted pants from AE and I also have a black pair of jeggings from H&M. High waisted pants also allow people to wear crop tops without showing their stomach. My go-to outfit are my high waisted jeggings, a crop top, and a nice fuzzy flannel. I honestly think everyone should own a pair and they have become one of my essentials.

These are the exact high waisted pants I own and where I bought them at:

Trend Report Tuesday: Kimonos

When I first heard about this trend, I didn’t exactly like it. I thought that kimonos were very unflattering and didn’t fit into my style, but they eventually grew on me. What I love about them is that they are very versatile and is a perfect “sweater” to wear in the summer. It’s very light and flowy and kind of makes you look like a hipster which is always a plus. Kimonos come in all styles and lengths to match your own personal style.

I currently have 2 kimonos that I purchased from TJ Maxx. They are currently my favorite styles. The black one is all lace in the back and has some fringe on the bottom which gives so flare to the outfit. I love to wear it on top of a crop top and high waisted shorts because its nice and long to cover up your back. It’s also very bohemian looking which is a perfect addition to my style.

BLACK KIMONO

My other kimono is a rich cream color with some lace trimming. I like to wear this one on fancier occasions since it’s a little bit more elegant looking, in my opinion. I usually wear this with a nice top and jeans or a on top of a basic romper.

PINK KIMONO

Here are a few kimonos that I really like:

trac cream lace kimono

Nordstrom has some good quality kimonos for a little bit pricier than what I would pay for, but I love this lace one because it’s perfect for dressing up an outfit.

la hearts floral kimono

PacSun is a great place to buy bohemian clothing. I’m really into the longer kimonos because they give off a better vibe, if that makes any sense.I like the dark floral and the fringe at the bottom.

black lace kimono

Forever21 has a great variety of clothing for any fashion style. I like the lace detailing and I also love the affordable price of this kimono. Another place to get some deals for kimonos is TJ Maxx. They aren’t guaranteed to have any, but you’d be surprise at what clothing items you can find there.

band of gypsies kimonoUrban Outfitters has very beautiful printed kimonos. This happens to be my favorite print from that store because I like the earth tones in it. If you’re willing to pay a little more to get a fancier kimono, I would definitely get one from here.

2014 Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show

Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show 2014
On Saturday, April 26th, 2014, I attended the Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show. This is my second year going and it was such a blast. This year we came a little bit earlier and were able to get a closer seat to the runway. I recommend getting a closer seat because you can see the clothes more clearly and are able to take better photos. The food was just as good as last year but I was disappointed at the fact that they didn’t have the same food selection. Last year they had quiche and mini cinnamon rolls from Cinnabon and mini donuts from Top Pot Doughnuts. I also really liked this season’s clothes better than last year’s. I felt they were more stylish and expensive looking. Here are some of my favorite outfits from the runway.

Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show 2014I really love this dress from Free People. I love floral and I thought the pleats gave it a pleasing movement to the eye.

Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show 2014I love this lemon inspired dress from Kate Spade. She’s one of my favorite designers because her clothes are very classic and sophisticated.

Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show 2014The only things I like about this outfit are the powder blue waffle print full skirt from TOPSHOP and the ruffled socks with the heels. The socks were a nice touch to the outfit and it reminded me of Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show 2014I thought this dress was lovely. It has an interesting floral print with polka dots dress from Anthropologie. It’s actually very intriguing and is the perfect maxi dress to wear in the summer.

Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show 2014This brown leather jacket with layering in the front from BCBGMAXAZRIA, is actually a product I would buy. I just love how you can dress it up or dress it down.

Bellevue Style Blooms Runway Show 2014This chiffon maxi dress BCBGMAXAZRIA, was very intriguing to the eye. The pattern of the black and pink was interesting and is something I would definitely love to wear.

This year’s swag bag was a pretty purple makeup bag. I felt like last year’s bag contents were better. Last year, there were things like a free makeover at Sephora and other great coupons. I’d definitely recommend going to this if you are really into great fashion and want to experience what a fashion show is really like. I’ll definitely be going to this event for years to come.
