Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

I am always on the hunt for the most flawless full coverage foundation and this one is a close runner up. The Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer is my current all-time favorite foundation. I have acne scars and hyper-pigmentation and this foundation covers it all up so nicely. It comes in 20 different shades and I am the shade ‘fair’ which is the lightest shade. It isn’t a completely matte foundation so my nose does get oily throughout the day and the foundation does rub off after a while if you do not set it. Other than that, I highly recommend this foundation if you are looking for a full coverage look. You can purchase it at Clinique, Sephora, Macy’s, Ulta, and Nordstrom for $27 which is such a great price!

Makeup Monday: Sephora Collection Retractable Brow Pencil Waterproof

I recently purchased the Sephora Collection Retractable Waterproof Brow Pencil in Rich Chestnut. I’ve always used a gel for brows and I thought it was time to try a brow pencil. I really like how the pencil looks on my eyebrows. It’s comes on very light and thin so that you’re able to create hair like strokes as thick or thin as you want. There are 7 different shades to match your eyebrows perfectly. I also like the small wingtip comb on the other side to help brush out your eyebrow and even out the color. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants precision when doing their eyebrows.

Makeup Monday: Sephora Collection Long Lasting 12HR Wear Eye Liner

I am always on the hunt for the perfect liquid eyeliner. I prefer to use liquid eyeliner over a pencil because it creates a bolder and more defined winged eyeliner. I decided to steer away from drugstore brands and try an eyeliner from the Sephora Collection. I was surprised at how affordable most of the Sephora brand products are. This eyeliner that I purchased was $12 which is not that much more than a drug store eyeliner. What I really like about this eyeliner is that it is very dark unlike other eyeliners I’ve tried that don’t have much ink in them. It’s also great for creating the perfect winged eyeliner because the brush allows it to create small and big lines. The downside of the brush is that it is hard to control and can create crooked lines if you’re not an expert at eyeliner. I prefer to use a pen eyeliner over a brush eyeliner just so that I can have more control. I don’t plan on buying this again but I might try a pen eyeliner from the Sephora because I like the quality of Sephora’s products.

Trend Report Tuesday- Denim Skirts

I remember when I was in 3rd grade, mini denim skirts were so popular for girls. Now the trend is back but re-amped. I’m really love in this trend because for me, it gives off this boho/western vibe. I’ve seen some people at Coachella and other music festivals wear this look with a big studded belt and crop top. You can also make it a edgier look by adding a blazer and a pair of stilettos. I think a denim skirt is a perfect staple to have in your wardrobe for the late summer/early fall season. Here are a few of my favorite denim skirts:

Makeup Monday: Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Mascara

I’m starting a new segment on here called Makeup Monday where I review makeup products I have purchased. The first product I want to review is the Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Mascara. I discovered this product one day while shopping at Costco. I’m really into false lashes and creating the long lash look. I thought it was so cool that this mascara can create these fake lashes when applied. It comes with two tubes. The first thing you do is apply about 1-2 coats of the mascara to help “prime” or get the lashes wet so that you can apply the lash extension fibers from the other tube. Then apply the mascara again to brush out the fibers in order to get the fake lash look.

This mascara actually works! It does create very long lashes like it promises. The thing I don’t like about this mascara is that it’s very sticky and the lashes can very easily stick and clump together. It can also stick to some of the bottom lashes around the corners of your lashes as well. It’s an easy fix but it’s just a hassle. I recommend it to people who want to create the false lash look without having to use false lashes. It’s a bit pricy so it might not be worth it for most people. Here are a few places you can purchase this product:

Trend Report Tuesday- Baseball Caps

I’m finally glad that baseball caps are in style now because I’ve been wearing them for a long while whenever I was a having a bad hair day or if I hadn’t washed my hair that day. Baseball caps are so fun and versatile to wear, they spice up any old casual outfit. You can wear a vintage cap with a pair of ripped jeans and a t-shirt or a pink cap with a casual t-shirt dress and some vans sneakers. Here are some of my personal favorite baseball caps:

Summer Fashion Essentials ☼

Summer is finally here! Here are some fashion pieces that I think are essential for this summer.

Pins and Needles Lace Halter Bra- Urban Outfitters

pins and needles halter bra

I’m obsessed with bralettes and halter bras. They are much comfier than a normal bra and are cuter than a normal t-shirt bra. These kind of bras can be worn with anything, but I personally like to wear them with strappy shirts and dresses so the bra is more visible. This bralette from UO is personally one of my favorites and come in a bunch of colors.

Urban Renewal Recycled High/Low Denim Short- Urban Outfitters

UO levis short

I finally found the classic high-waisted Levi shorts! I’m so in love with vintage looking clothing and Urban Renewal is the perfect place to find renewed vintage clothing. These shorts are perfect for a music festival this summer or a day trip to the beach.

Jada Dress- Brandy Melville

jada dress

I think this little dress is a must have for this summer. You could totally dress it up or down for any occasion. Wear it going anywhere and when you get chilly at night, throw a jean jacket on top or a thin cardigan.

Vans ‘Classic’ Sneaker- Nordstrom

vans slip ons

These are my go-to shoes. I used to wear my white converse like all the time, but now I wear these. They’re super easy to put on and match with practically any outfit. Wear them if you’re just making a quick run to the store or walking around the city.

a.n.a Valerie Strappy Lace-Up Sandals- JCPenny

lace up heels

I’ve been trying to find a pair of shoes exactly like this but I could never find an affordable pair. The strapping of this shoe is perfect for a date night. They look good with either a dress or jeans.

Cat Eye Sunglasses- Forever21

cat eye sunglasses

I don’t have this exact pair, but I have something similar that I bought at Kohl’s, but the shape of the glasses is my absolute favorite. Different styles of sunglasses look better on certain people, so you just have to find the perfect pair. The cat eye glasses seem to be a trendy style so that’s why I chose these ones. Keep them in your purse or car so that you always have them and ready for use.

The 2015 Bellevue Collection’s Canvas of Style Runway Show

The Canvas of Style Runway Show at the Bellevue Collection was held on April 25th, 2015. This was my 3rd year going to this show and it was probably my favorite one yet. Again this year, there was a catered breakfast that included pastries and fruit which wasn’t too bad. There was also a goodie bag filled with coupons for stores located in the mall. I was really disappointed in the type of coupons because there weren’t too many that were worth using.

The theme ‘Canvas of Style’ incorporated a lot of color into a lot of the wardrobes this year. I also thought that this year’s outfits were aimed to a wider audience. There were a lot more clothes this year that I could actually see myself wearing. Here are some of my personal favorites from the show:

Topshop Skirt

Nordstrom Topshop full skirt in window pane print

I love all the clothes from Topshop and I especially love this skirt. I think the print of the skirt is very retro and is something that I wouldn’t mind owning myself.

Gap Denim JacketLorna Jane Hoodie

Gap Denim baseball jacket

Lorna Jane White sleeveless hoodie and black mesh top

I really love the sporty trend because I’m a big fan of athletic looking clothes. The denim baseball jacket is a great statement jacket. The black mesh top is also a trend I’m really in love with. These are both super sporty while fashionable at the same time.

Banana Republic VestBanana Republic Shoes

Banana Republic Vest with contrast woven trim

I like to call this look preppy chic. The vest layered on top of the shirt paired with the circle skirt is preppy and trendy. My favorite part of the outfit is the striped shoes worn with socks. It reminds me of the 50’s which is probably one of my favorite eras in fashion.

Intermix Fringe SkirtBCBG Black JacketNordstrom Rebecca Minkoff Jacket

Intermix Suede fringe skirt

BCBGMAXAZRIA Black fringe jacket

Nordstrom Rebecca Minkoff white leather fringe jacket

I’ve never really liked leather jackets until the fringe trend became popular. All these looks are very Bohemian which is what my style closely resembles and owning a fringe jacket or a fringe skirt is a perfect statement piece for a boho chick like me.

DVF Chiffon Dress

Diane Von Furstenberg Blush chiffon dress with gathered front

About 2 years ago, I was obsessed with everything chiffon. This dress reminded me how much I love chiffon. The gathered front gives it an elegant but boho look. I would love to own a beautiful dress like this.

Anthropologie Dress

Anthropologie White deep pleated front shirtdress

This dress is probably my favorite piece out of the whole show. It’s so simple but so chic at the same time. You could totally dress this up or down for any occasion. My favorite part of the dress is the dress shirt top part mixed with the pleats on the bottom. I would love to have this dress be part of my wardrobe.

BCBG Belt

BCBGMAXAZRIA belt

I’ve noticed that big statement belts are a big trend now, especially for Coachella looks. A big studded belt is a great statement piece for any simple outfit. You can dress up an outfit with a belt or you can wear a studded belt to add to a bohemian look. The belt is a definite must for the spring.

Favorite app of the month: VSCO

VSCO-logo

My favorite new app of February is the VSCOcam app. I like to think of this app as a mixture of Tumblr and Instagram. I’m really into photography now so I enjoy using this app. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and it’s absolutely amazing. The photos on the app for me are breath-taking and very inspirational. I like to go on here when I’m lacking inspiration and creativity. It’s also fun to play around with the filters and editing options. There are so many possibilities and it’s fun to transform a photo and give it more life. I definitely recommend getting this app and try new things with photography. New Year. New Me.

2015

Happy New Year!! I can’t believe it’s 2015 already. 2014 seemed to fly by way too quick. But with the New Year, comes new resolutions and goals. I’ve come to understand the importance of resolutions and goals the past few months. I’m starting to incorporate them into my life and have actually helped me do what I want to achieve. I thought that with the New Year, I would come up with some resolutions and goals for 2015 which may also be resolutions or goals of yours as well. I have a strong feeling that 2015 will be a good year for myself and for many others of you. I can see change coming down the road as long as I can follow my goals I’ve set for myself. I’m gonna share my resolutions and goals with you guys and hopefully inspire you to change something in your New Year 🙂

Resolution #1- Healthier diet and stay active

I’m now a sophomore in High School and school is starting to really pick up the pace which has created a lot of stress-filled nights with 5+ hours of homework and studying. I also do extra-curricular activities such as music and sports. For me, when I’m stressed out and very busy, I tend to not pay attention to what I’m consuming. I usually grab whatever I can, whenever I can. Ever since about October, I’ve started to gain a little extra weight. As a result of this, I’m hoping that in 2015, I will pay attention to what goes in my mouth and to a more well rounded diet. I also want to start drinking A LOT more water than I am now. I only drink about a 12 ounces of water a day, on average. Drinking a glass of water before meals and periodically throughout workouts will hopefully give me a boost to loosing the extra weight I’ve gained. Since, I’ve been very busy lately, it’s been hard for me to find the time to go to the gym. I need to stop feeding myself excuses! I plan to workout about 3-4 days a week in 2015 to help me loose some unnecessary weight.

Resolution #2- Create efficient study habits

Ever since social media has entered my life, I’ve become a huge slacker when it comes to doing work. I get distracted with my phone way too easily and lose focus on my homework. I want to come up with a plan of action each day I get home from school. I’ll give myself breaks periodically throughout the night for me to use my phone and laptop, and then take away all my distractions so that I will focus on the work for that night. I usually procrastinate when it comes to study and I hope that in 2015, I will be able to start studying earlier to help eliminate some stress of cramming in some study time the night before.

Resolution #3- Get Organized!

As I grow older, I gain more responsibilities and work. My schedule has become more and more hectic and it’s hard to keep up with all that I have to do day-to-day. I purchased a dry-erase calendar where I can fill it with important dates such as important test days, birthday parties, social gatherings and extra-curricular activities. It has helped me to keep track of what’s coming up for the week and keeps me, well, organized!

Resolution #4- Continue to work and improve my blog

It seems that I blog less and less each year because I just become more and more busy. I’m hoping this year I will be able to balance out my schedule and prioritize blogging in my daily routine. I want to take my blogging to the next level this year and maybe even branch out and do video blogging. I just have to find some motivation and stick with it.

I hope my resolutions have helped to inspire you to create a new goal for 2015 and create a better you. I hope you all have a happy New Year!!
