Happy New Year!! I can’t believe it’s 2015 already. 2014 seemed to fly by way too quick. But with the New Year, comes new resolutions and goals. I’ve come to understand the importance of resolutions and goals the past few months. I’m starting to incorporate them into my life and have actually helped me do what I want to achieve. I thought that with the New Year, I would come up with some resolutions and goals for 2015 which may also be resolutions or goals of yours as well. I have a strong feeling that 2015 will be a good year for myself and for many others of you. I can see change coming down the road as long as I can follow my goals I’ve set for myself. I’m gonna share my resolutions and goals with you guys and hopefully inspire you to change something in your New Year 🙂
Resolution #1- Healthier diet and stay active
I’m now a sophomore in High School and school is starting to really pick up the pace which has created a lot of stress-filled nights with 5+ hours of homework and studying. I also do extra-curricular activities such as music and sports. For me, when I’m stressed out and very busy, I tend to not pay attention to what I’m consuming. I usually grab whatever I can, whenever I can. Ever since about October, I’ve started to gain a little extra weight. As a result of this, I’m hoping that in 2015, I will pay attention to what goes in my mouth and to a more well rounded diet. I also want to start drinking A LOT more water than I am now. I only drink about a 12 ounces of water a day, on average. Drinking a glass of water before meals and periodically throughout workouts will hopefully give me a boost to loosing the extra weight I’ve gained. Since, I’ve been very busy lately, it’s been hard for me to find the time to go to the gym. I need to stop feeding myself excuses! I plan to workout about 3-4 days a week in 2015 to help me loose some unnecessary weight.
Resolution #2- Create efficient study habits
Ever since social media has entered my life, I’ve become a huge slacker when it comes to doing work. I get distracted with my phone way too easily and lose focus on my homework. I want to come up with a plan of action each day I get home from school. I’ll give myself breaks periodically throughout the night for me to use my phone and laptop, and then take away all my distractions so that I will focus on the work for that night. I usually procrastinate when it comes to study and I hope that in 2015, I will be able to start studying earlier to help eliminate some stress of cramming in some study time the night before.
Resolution #3- Get Organized!
As I grow older, I gain more responsibilities and work. My schedule has become more and more hectic and it’s hard to keep up with all that I have to do day-to-day. I purchased a dry-erase calendar where I can fill it with important dates such as important test days, birthday parties, social gatherings and extra-curricular activities. It has helped me to keep track of what’s coming up for the week and keeps me, well, organized!
Resolution #4- Continue to work and improve my blog
It seems that I blog less and less each year because I just become more and more busy. I’m hoping this year I will be able to balance out my schedule and prioritize blogging in my daily routine. I want to take my blogging to the next level this year and maybe even branch out and do video blogging. I just have to find some motivation and stick with it.
