Back to School Tips and Tricks

Here are some useful tips and tricks for back to school.

What I like to wear is a dress on the first day of school. I like to wear a dress that is not to much to worry about but something easy but still very cute because you will be walking around a lot.

One trick I do on the first week of school is I plan out what I’m going to wear for the whole week. That makes it so much easier in the mornings. And to make it easier when planning out for the week, I always check the weather. I check the weather because I can know if it will be hot or that morning so that I know how many layers to wear or if I need to wear jeans instead of a skirt.

The second tip for school is to be prepared. I like to get all my stuff ready in the morning so that means my outfit, backpack and even lunch. And also be prepared with things in your backpack. I always keep a pair of pants and a shirt in my backpack just in case I need it.

For school, you don’t always need to have the newest and trendiest clothing. Everybody has a different view on fashion. Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable. You don’t want to wear a skirt if you’re on of those people who just don’t wear skirt, just because everyone else is. Wear something that’s eye popping. Something fresh and new. I always wear my new clothes n the first couple weeks.

I hope these tips were helpful and you will be able to use this for your back to school routine.

Birthday Shopping 7/9/12 *UPDATE 3*

All I wanted for my birthday was to go shopping (of course!) Here are the items that I got for my birthday!! And don’t worry, there is more to come. I will be update the post throughout the summer. Enjoy!

Half-Zip Hoodie- PINK

I love this jacket because it is very thin and perfect for summer. I also got this because it’s lavender and that’s my favorite color.

Dark wash Denim Jacket- Love Culture

I have always wanted a denim jacket. For me, denim jacket match with about everything. I wear this jacket with my new dress up above and it looks fabulous. I think it finishes an outfit.

Brown High-Low Dress with belt- Forever 21

I got this dress because I love brown colored dresses. Plus I thought the belt was super cute and I could wear it with other outfits.

Mini Bailey Button- UGGS

I have wanted UGGS since the 4th grade. I thought they were very stylish and cozy. I also got chocolate color because I wanted something different from the usual tan colored boots I get.

Indo Classic Slip-On- TOMS

It was so hard for me to pick a pair of toms. They have so many cute styles! But I finally picked this grey patterned shoe. I thought it was going to be a good pair of shoes I could just put on a pair of jeans and a top and wear these shoes.

Orange Pencil Skirt-Charlotte Russe

I like this skirt because it’s not as short as other skirts I tried on and plus this color is very flattering on me.

Essential Linen Blend Sweater- Forever21

I like this sweater because it is very basic and casual. Plus you can layer this sweater under a blouse which looks very good.

Blazers

Blazers have always been a classic. Every person should own this piece of clothing. They are perfect for any age group. What I love about blazers is that you can wear it so many different ways. You could wear it to work during the day, like if you’re a teacher or work in the professional field, and you can wear it at night if you are going out and want to stay comfy. Blazers are becoming very popular so there are a lot of different styles, colors, and even textures. Here are some of my personal favorite blazers.

Ruched Sleeve Knit Blazer

Cream 3/4 Sleeve Blazer

Longline Lace Blazer

Frenchi Railroad Stripe Crop Blazer

Black, Gray and Blue

Have you ever worn black, gray or blue together? I have for sure. But all my friends always say, ‘ Those brown boots don’t match with your blue jeans’ or ‘That blue skirt doesn’t match with those gray leggings.’ In my opinion, I think these colors look perfectly fine together. I think you just have to wear the right shades of these colors together. Here are some pictures of clothing that I would definitely wear together.

Steve Madden Candence

Fitted Knit Skirt

Essential Legging Capri

Neons!

Neon clothing, or as I like to call it, highlighter color clothing, is super fun! I love neon colors because it’s so bright and everyone will notice you. Plus, it is the perfect thing to wear during the summer. There are also a lot of different styles you can wear from shirts to shorts to dresses and accessories. What’s really perfect is to wear one neon color with another. My personal opinion is that if you wear, let’s say, a neon yellow shirt with yellow pants, I think it is a little overpowering or tacky. But it would be cute if you wore a neon pink shirt with neon green shorts and a neon pink thin belt.
Here are some of my personal favorite neon clothing:

Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Denim Short

Neon Animal Bodycon Dress

Black Light Optional Neon Yellow Fuchsia Dress

Dolce T-Strap Sandal

Printed Crochet Fringe 2fer Top

Plaid and Stripes; Is This a Crime?

I have always heard that plaid and stripes don’t go together. Is it a bad thing? No, of course it isn’t, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best thing to wear. I once wore stripes and plaid without even noticing. I just thought it looked good together. But now when I tried on that exact outfit a year later, I thought it didn’t look so bad. I think the thing for mastering plaids and stripes is matching colors pretty well. For example, wearing a light blue and peach plaid shirt with a white and peach striped cardigan doesn’t look that bad. What would you do? Would you wear stripes and plaid?

Summer Maxis and Rompers

The best thing for me to wear in the summer is something that is comfortable and keeps me cool. I think Maxis and Rompers are the perfect thing to wear this summer. I love maxis because they can be beautiful, long, printed dresses that are very flowing so it’s very easy to move around. These kinds of dresses are perfect with a pair of shades and thong sandals.

Rompers are perfect to wear anywhere. There are also many different styles. They range from just one color to different prints. If I were to wear a romper I would either wear it with a pair of Vans or sandals, sunglasses (of course!!), and a medium sized belt to help distinguish the romper.

Shopping 5/19/2012

Yesterday I went to the mall and I stopped by Nordstrom, planning to buy some new shoes. I couldn’t decide between a pair of these beautiful Purple Pelmetto Women’s Classics Toms and a pair of these Vans Authentic Glitter Dots. I decided to get the Vans because they would be a little bit more durable than the Toms.
After that, I went to Forever 21 and I got a super cute lace top. I don’t exactly know what the top is called, sorry!
If you were to buy the Toms or Vans, you can wear them with a pair of yoga pants and a cute shirt…like the one I just bought yesterday.

Color Blocking

The easiest way to color block with clothing is to take really bright colors and put them together. For instance, try wearing a dark blouse with a bright colored skirt. Another alternative is to wear a very simple outfit but with a pair of shoes that are multi-colored. Even adding really big and bright accessories will help but make sure not to go overboard.
Here’s some color blocking ideas:

1.Richard Nicoll Color Block Dress

2.Alexander Wang Silk Combo Color Dress

3.Mint Twist Neck Color Block Dress

4.Velvet Torch Color Block Maxi Dress

5.Theory Color Block Tank Dress

6.Marc by Marc Jacobs Silk Color Block Tank

H&M Virtual Dressing Room

I have recently checked out H&M’s website and they have this super cool Virtual Dressing Room. It features a model which you can change and dress up. You can put on any piece of clothing onto the model from the catalog. From there, you can change the color if there are different colors available and it tells you how much the piece of clothing costs. It also tells you how much your whole outfit costs. You can try on anything from dresses to swimsuits and even accessories. If you’re ever curious about how something looks, you can see it in the H&M Virtual Dressing Room.
